Martha Stewart Crafter’s Clay Inspiration

I hope to inspire everyone today with a project using Martha Stewart Crafter's Clay Nature Starter Kit.

I really love this starter kit, it includes Crafter's Clay (white, brown, yellow, red, and blue), 2 detailing tools, 4 silicone molds, floral tape, floral wire, and instructions booklet with color-mixing chart.

With this starter kit I was able to make this home décor project.

You can also easily create your own beautiful dimensional clay embellishments and decorations with this easy-to-use crafter’s clay kit. It is non-toxic, air-drying molding compound which can be used with silicone molds or free form to become beautiful flowers, leaves, and bird.

No baking required, air-dries in 24 hours to a firm consistency and can then be left natural or finished with paint, glitter or whatever suits your projects. There are selections of Martha Stewart silicone molds available to choose at Paper Lane.

I hope I have inspired you today.

Be inspired and create.

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!

Have you been to Paper Lane yet? I'm sure you have seen all the new and pretty Kaisercraft paper collections in stock. Our most favorite is  the Bundle of Joy collection.   The papers as well as the coordinated embellishments, album and stamps are just too adorable!!! This collection is  perfect for scrapping those precious moments in a baby's life.

Here are some beautiful and inspiring projects that Lani have created with this range.

This beautiful printers tray showcased Lani's cute daughter and featured lots of  Bundle of Joy papers, die-cuts,  coordinated wood embellishments, lace and paper flowers.

The  coordinated  Collectables/die-cut embellishments  are just too cute and  so easy to use and by adding some foam adhesives you get a perfect 3D- look .

Here is another cute project,  an altered wooden Tissue Box using the adorable papers from this collection. The use of stalks, prams and cheeky cherub faces  are just too cute and compliment the distinct baby pink perfectly.

Another equally darling is this wooden baby photo frame created by Lani.

Here's another very cute  idea using ordinary wooden  frame which is a perfect base for creating unique
gift for a friend with a baby.

This vintage collection is just beautiful and comes with many embellishments , perfect for creating adorable baby projects.

I do hope you've had your fill of eye candies for today!

Echo Park Sweet Girl Mini Album

Hello! Here I am with another album. This time I used papers, stickers and chipboard stickers from the super bright and sweet Eco Park Sweet Girl Collection available now at Paperlane.

I wanted the album to be interesting, interactive and fun, so I used many flaps, pockets and clips - you won't believe how many photos you can put in this mini album!

There are two flaps on the front cover that also serve as a way to keep the album closed and an interesting way to do your journalling.

Inside there is a big pocket for more photos, four pages for photos and journalling, and a smaller pocket on the back cover.

And here is a closer look at two of the pages.

I had super fun playing with this collection. Give it a try!

Happy crafting,

Flower Soft Inspiration

Hello, dear crafters!

Today's inspiration is  Flower Soft. On this project I used the Flower Soft Spring Textures  Peony Pink, Spring and Meadow colors .

It is quite easy to use. Just follow the 3 easy steps:
 1. Take flower soft out of the jar. Keep it in a small bowl or container and loosen it up.
2. Add glue to the design. 3. Sprinkle over flower soft. Remove excess and let the glue with flower soft dry.

Here is the first card I made using the Spring Texture flower soft . . .

The stamp I used is the Bird Haven Set Stamps (HCPC3477) from Heartfelt Creations as well as the sentiment which is the Heartfelt Creations Precut Set Stamp (HCPC3474).  I applied Flower Soft on the flower and leaves on the stamp design.

And here is the second card I made using the she Spring Textures flower soft ...

On this card i used the Tattered Blossom Swirls Precut Set (HCPC3469) also from Heartfelt Creations.  I used the same Heartfelt Creations Precut Set Stamp for the sentiment.

After stamping the flower design on a white cardstock, I cut it out and applied Flower Soft spring color on the flowers and meadow on the leaves.  Accented the flowers with pearls.  I applied Flower Soft on the window too.

The butterfly was punched then flower soft was applied on the wings.  It surely does add dimensions to my card.

I hope you'll give Flower Soft a try.  You can adhere it with glue to your cards or scrapbooks.  It does not crush or rub off and it is acid free.  Flower Soft is especially good for adding dimension to flowers, grass or leaves and wide variety of projects.  It also is very light and does not add any significant weight to a project.  The floral embellishments are permanent as thick PVA glue is used.

There are a lot of Flower Soft colors available to choose from at Paper Lane. Have your pick!  Be inspired and create.

Cheers,
Irene

Fun with Martha Stewart Paints

Today I would like to share and inspire everyone with projects I made using Martha Stewart craft paints. True to itself that these multi-surface satin acrylic paints can be applied to ‘different types of surfaces’ as I used the paints on wood, clay (terra cotta), cardstock and chipboards.

The acrylic glitter paints are for multi-surface use too! I really loved how my projects turned out. Although I have altered some projects in the past but have not used paints on them…mostly papers and other stuff…but these paints are so easy to use. It surely will bring the ‘artist in you’.

Well, let’s have a look on the inspirational projects I’ve done…

Painting on a Wooden box

I have painted the box using Habanero then used wedding cake paint and Martha Stewart Stencil for the design on the side of the box. After the paint dries, I embellished it with items from my stash.
The wooden Memory box is from Plaid which is also available at Paper Lane along with a wide varieties of wooden surfaces to choose from.

Painting a Clay (Terra cotta) pots

On this clay pot, I painted inside using Heliotrope paint, the side with Party Streamer paint and Blue Calico for the bottom.

Painted the rim with violet glitter paint…really adds shimmer to it! The ruffled lace that decorates the sides around the pot just below the rim was alternately painted with Bubble Gum and Blueberry Slush glitter paint. Added some flowers on the rim and this clay pot is done.

I was still in for another clay pot project…well, gotta try the other paint colors too and besides I still have another pot lying around.

This time I painted the pot using Pollen and Granny Smith paints. The ruffled lace was painted with Purple Sapphire glitter paint. Added again flowers on the rim and I have another altered pot done. These pots makes a wonderful gift; maybe a coin or trinket holder; coffee table centerpiece or holds some candies/chocolates…just imagine all the possibilities.

While painting, the first coat of paint gave me beautiful coverage and in just 2 coats you can see the difference. It is also not tacky to touch after it’s dry. The paint have good consistency and dries fairly quickly too. Love this paint!!!

Painting on Cardstock and chipboards

On this card, I used Pollen, Granny Smith and Party Streamer paints. I used foam pouncher technique to apply the paints. Added sentiment on the card, a few matching adhesive pearls and I have an inspirational card done.

I made another card and this time, I painted the chipboard flourish with Beetle Black paint and after the paint dried I applied Bubble Gum glitter paint. It definitely added sparkle to it.

I die cut the flower using Tim Holtz Tattered floral then painted it with Party Streamer and again after the paint dried I applied Bubble Gum glitter paint. This glitter paints definitely added sparkle to my chipboard embellishments. Stamp the sentiment, added a strip of lace and I have another inspiring card!!

I have used a lot of tools too when doing these projects– sponge brushes, paint brushes, and stencils and they all cleaned up so easily with soap and tepid water. Paper Lane exclusively stock all Martha Stewart paint colors and wide variety of accessories.

Considering that these paints works on so many surfaces, the many gorgeous and fun color choices and finishes available, it’s really a very good paint every crafter should have on her craft box. I hope I have inspired you today. Next time you visit Paper Lane, remember to grab some paints and make inspirational projects.

Cheers,
Irene

Carta Bella - World Traveler Collection

Hey crafty people; today I share with you a travel journal I made using the super awesome World Traveler collection by Carta Bella.  I totally loved the vintage look of this collection and the colours are awesome...rich reds, vintage greens, greys and blacks!  I teamed it with a variety of creme, dark red, brown and kraft card stock - I had the perfect book for it too! With the exception of lace, paper clips and a few bits and pieces Paper Lane stocks everything I used on this project!

Lets take a look at the cover shall we...luckily the cover of the book I used has an old leathery look to it - perfect yes?!  I adhered some beige crochet lace on the spine and a matching doily to help accent the vintage look.  Cut outs from the pages, stickers and chipboard accents complete the look!  I also used a white dabber to create a bit of a worn look.  The leathery strips wrap around the book perfectly securing whatever you have inside.
I love how bulky the journal is!
For this project I also used from the collection the travel cards, element and alpha stickers, chipboard accents, layered stickers and journaling cards - Paper Lane also stacks the 6x6 paper pad, matching brads and washi tape. I love how this journal turned out - it is totally ready for a vacation - all you have to do is journal daily, collect memorabilia and take oodles of snap shots!
The inside cover reads "packed my bags", it also boasts a map I fussy cut from the paper collection and holds place to insert the flight ticket, boarding passes etc.  Take a photo as you are ready to leave... with your luggage around you and your biggest grin of excitement ever and slip it under the twine on the creme card stock photo mat provided.

There are 14 kraft pages in the journal - each page divided by a creme journaling paper insert - I bought a pad of parchment paper, printed a date space and writing lines and tore and inked the edges with vintage photo distress ink.  I don't know about you but when I go on vacation I love to journal about my day - what we did, saw, ate, etc and to insert any collectibles under a paper clip...see one of my pages below.
There far too many pages in this journal to showcase here but pop on over to my blog in a day or two if you wish to see images of all the different pages. For this post I will showcase just a few...enjoy!
I slipped a regular clothing safety pin through the twine of the two tags and adhered to the "get up and go" sentiment before gluing it onto the paper doily - I love the  outcome because the tags lift up, is totally movable, leaving space for a photograph to be admired.  The paper to the left reads the days of the week, is not glued down and slips under the paper clip (good place for the photograph to be slipped under)  I embossed the words relax and travel with white embossing powder.
I found an airmail envelope in my stash, cut it down to size, punched a half circle, inked and added some embellishments   Plus I only adhered it to the left and right so one can easily slide some memorabilia under the top of the envelop  The checkered ribbon on the deep red card stock unties to reveal place for 6 of your favourite snapshots
I left the one side blank for the user to maximize; I have done this on several different locations throughout out the journal.  On the other side I created a double page pocket with the parchment paper and memorabilia can be inserted in on top and in the pocket provided!  The page turns to reveal a double photograph spread on the other side - great way to make usage!
Three photo mats for great snapshots here and it also allows for all kinds of collectibles to be inserted plus the tags are also available for notes or anything you wish to record on it.
The journaling cards in this collection are awesome!  Two of them are tucked under the side flap on the right and are held together with a paper clip.  Each journaling card has a super image with a sentiment and is a post card on the flip side so it could actually be used as a post card for friends on family while you are on vacation!

Imagine taking a journal like this along with you on your next trip??!!  A travel journal makes a better keepsake than a disc of photographs - I mean how often do you take out the disc to look at the photographs??  With a journal like this you can slip it off your shelf and page through the memories whenever you feel like it AND you can show it to your friends and boast about it too.  So contact Paper Lane and lets have a workshop and make it for ourselves...you won't regret it!!

See you all soon and happy crafting...Janine

Prima Divine Mini Album and Layout

Hello! Today I am really happy to show you the mini album I made with the latest Prima products available at Paperlane. I used papers from the new Divine collection (and divine it is!), a Mixed Media Doll stamp, tags from the Tags Pad and wooden buttons - all such a treat and delight to my crafter's soul!

The moment I saw that pretty doll stamp, I knew it would be perfect for paper piecing and I was right. It was such fun to make the doll and decorate the tag. Once the tag was ready, I had to come up with something to hold it, so basically the album was created because of the tag :).

The mini album has four pages that hold 4x6 inch photos and two pockets for tags and more photos. I used the first pocket for a photo tag and a journalling tag and the pocket on the back page for a bunch of other photos from the same session.

The papers are so beautiful and delicate and the colours matched my photos so nicely that I did not find it necessary to decorate the pages a lot. I kept it clean and simple:

a banner and a sticker;

and a button and ribbon here and there.

The mini album makes a perfect keepsake and a sweet gift. It will be soon available at Paperlane as a class, so if you'd like to make your own and have lots of fun with the latest from Prima, call now to reserve your place.

I also have a layout for you. I used the Canzone paper from the Divine collection - a really beautiful design, which is very easy to work with.

I only added a banner, die cuts, a brad and some tulle for a more delicate touch. And voila!

I hope my projects have inspired you!

Happy crafting,

Lidiya
