DCWV The Playtime Stack - Accordion Fold Album

Hello, everyone! Lidiya here with a post dedicated to the latest DCWV collections. I'm sure that most of you who visited Paper Lane in the last month could not but notice the big yummy stacks of DCWV papers. Those are awesome, aren't they? So many, so colourful and so different!

For my projects I chose The Playtime Stack collection which is basically a kids collection with cute characters and lots of sparkle and glitter. The papers are adorable in their own simple way and come on my favourite kraft paper and not just on the regular white cardstock. This makes them quite unique!

Sweet, shiny and simple - that's all you need to scrapbook your little ones' photos and enjoy the collection with a smile every time you look at it.

Today I am offering you a fun accordion fold album, which is just so cute and easy to make.

All I used to make the album was:

Cardstock and patterned paper: Bazzill and DCWV The Playtime Stack
Embellishments: Buttons and brads
Adhesives: Double sided tape, foam tape and Glossy Accents
Tools: Paper trimmer, Martha Steward butterfly punch, Silhouette die cut flowers
Other: Uniball Signo white gel pen.




I used the album for the photos of Raya's first sports day at school.

I chose the best moments of the day and now we have a wonderful keepsake of the event!

Celebrate Birthdays at Paper Lane !

     There is perhaps no other event in a person's life that is more looked forward to than one's birthday celebrations!  Young and old, rich and poor alike - there is always an excitement and joy to be felt with the advent of that single day in a year when we'll be older, yet richer with the warm salutations and heartfelt goodwill from family and friends.
     That's why here at Paper Lane, celebrations spent with friends and other  family members are such a joyful and momentuous event that everyone looks forward to! The kinship that is further cemented by the goal to finish one's project, and make it as beautiful as possible ... the efforts to make the celebrant feel as special as possible ... the excitement of sharing a delicious meal with friends ... and the lure of a sweet treat to perfectly cap a wonderful day are just some of the reasons that make birthdays at Paper Lane truly special !

Have Fun with Crafts Classes at Paper Lane!

     Happy sunny Monday afternoon, lovelies !

     Hope this week started out swell for you!☺ The temperature's surely getting higher, but dont let it stop you from making the most of the beautiful sunshiney days. Head to the park .. the beach .. or better yet, to Paper Lane!☺ to stock up on your supplies and have a very productive afternoon (or several, if you wish to!*wink!*)  scrapping away your latest Spring Holiday photos! Sounds like fun eh?

     Now FUN is indeed what these young ladies had by spending a beautiful day crafting to their hearts' delight! Look on to see more!



Madam Afra's group of young students succesfully tested their mettle in doing Cardmaking and Layout in Canvass - and their projects came out so beautifully!



These young girls also dabbled on inking and stamping to come up with beautiful cards for a project!



     Remember, classes - of any kind, be they scrapbooking, cardmaking, altered arts, inking on canvass - run everyday at Paper Lane and can be booked at least 48 hours in advance for groups of at least 2 people! So chummy up with a friend and explore the Paper-Craft-Queen potential that you know just lies within you!

Design Inspiration for Pink Paislee's London Market Collection

Good morning crafters !

For today we are featuring several layouts from our DT Jennifer Caldwell , using papers from the Pink Paislee London Market collection . Scroll down through and enjoy!☺

Spring on Lake Como

This is a double page layout using Royal Charm, Curiosities, Kensington, Notting Hill, Addington.

The base is cream cardstock, with two sheets of the map paper (Notting Hill). I matted all the photos on the reverse side of the black Kensington music paper. The edges of all papers are inked with tea dye distress ink. The embellishments are Prima vines and flowers, a Dusty Attic chipboard swirl and then layers of circles punched from the papers, some with a scalloped edge. The letters for the title are from my stash and are quite old but the colour was a good match.

Three Gentlemen of Verona

 

For this page I used a cream cardstock base again and then a sheet of Mayfair (and distressed the edges) then layered partial sheets of Curiosities (the strips) and Addington (the gray paper with circles). I made a pocket to hold a large tag made from Royal Charm which contains the journalling. The chipboard swirl is Dusty Attic misted with Tattered Angels Chalkboard Glimmer Mist in Teal High Heel. I've also used four pieces of the London Market Ephemera pack to make the embellishment cluster at the bottom (the base of the title) and in the top left corner. The teal lace is from Paper Lane's trim collection, and the glitter letter stickers are from my stash (American Craft thickers Lullaby Aqua).

A Feature on DCWV's Spring Fling Stack Pad

Good morning , crafty peeps!

For this beautiful sunshiney  April day , we are featuring several (read : quite a lot!) design inspirations using Die Cuts With A View's Spring Fling Stack Pad , made especially for Paper Lane blog readers by our Resident Designer whose works has been surely missed by everyone -  Lani !

The projects that Lani has prepared are simple and quick to make , so please do take a look, get a bit of inspiration for your crafting  and enjoy !

A simple scrapbook layout using two sheets of papers from DCWV Spring Fling Paper Stack. I inked the edges using Brush Corduroy  distress ink. The title was cut out from the set of tags included in the paper stack.

The handmad flower is made using   Cheery Lynn's Judy's Bloom and Miniature Rose Dies. I used a white cardstock   and  inked it using Wild Honey distress ink.  The intricate border   is from Cheery Lyn's Border Carnivale  Die. Other embellishments are cut out designs from Spring Fling patterned paper. 

I added my favorite die-cut from Cheery Lynn's Small Exotic  Butterfly  and inked  it  using Wild Honey Distress Ink .

Here's a beautiful collection of frames perfect for cardmaking and scrapbooking. A number of Cheery Lyn's  frames have a second graphic die cut in an otherwise empty area. These secondary dies are placed within the die for added value. Treat the outside and inside designs as separate dies.

Reflection Boutique Dies

This new innovation in paper crafting dies offers the benefit of compact storage, multi-purpose uses and economical pricing. Each die cut is a “reflection” of a matching die cut that will produce finished cuts much larger than the dies. There are applications for both scrap booking and card making while using any sized die cut machine for a specific purpose.  Sizes listed are half size. For example, a 3-5/8” size will result in a 7-1/4” wide decorated cut. A die that is 5-1/2” wide will produce an 11 inch die cut.  They make the largest die cuts in thin dies in the market place for a price that is much lower than larger die sets.
