Good Morning Crafters!

The Design Challenge #3 has ended and I am delighted that we have received many fabulous entries.  So, before I announce the winner and top three, I would like to say a very big ‘’Thank You’’ to the talented crafters who took the time to enter.

So without further delay, the winner of the Design Challenge #3 is ...................

Payal Kapoor with this gorgeous card.  I loved the technique used on the clock face and the variety of flowers and colours are really beautiful.

And my Top 3 goes to:

Dada Cruz with this stunning album.  I love the papers, the stitching, flowers and pins.  Perfect for keeping your favourite memories in.

Hafsa Alsada with her beautiful layout of her daughter.  A gorgeous photo, beautiful paper  and such a pretty design.

Saadia Shoaib with this pretty flower pot.  I love the variety of flowers and colours, the lace and the lattice work on the pot.

I must say that i had a very hard job picking only one winner and a top three because all the entries were fantastic.  Thank you once again for all your entries.  I hope you will join in again next time. Happy crafting!

Good morning fellow crafters!

This is Jill here with your latest Design challenge from Paper Lane.  I have created a card for you all to get some inspiration from and i hope that you will all join me in this challenge. 

Do not by shy, it is fun and easy, create something new and give it a try!

You can create a card or a layout.  All i ask is that your creation contains at least one flower.

(p.s I love flowers)

The rules, they are simple!

1. Create a card or a layout containing at least one flower.  (You may use flowery paper, flower embellishments, flower stamps, handmade flowers, die cuts......anything!)  Easy right?

2. Take a photo, 'like' Paper Lane's Facebook page (if you haven't already), upload your photo onto your own Facebook wall, label it ' Paper Lane Design Challenge' and tag Paper Lane.  Alternatively, you may upload your photo directly onto Paper Lane's Facebook wall.  Anyone without a Facebook page can send their photo by email to dxbcrafters@gmail.com.

3. The challenge will be open from today, July 1 for two weeks until July 15.  The winner will be announced on Tuesday, July 17.

4. The winner will take home these gorgeous goodies.  A fabulous prize indeed!

5. Please note that the Design Challenge is open only to UAE residents who can personally collect their prize from Paper Lane's store in Town Centre Jumeirah, Dubai within 2 months from the winner being announced.

And Our Design Challenge # 2 Winner Is ...

Hey Paperlane Scrappers how are we all doing?  Happily scrapping away I'm sure!

It is time to announce the winner of Paperlane's second design challenge and I am sure those who have entered are anxiously awaiting the result!

We only had 2 entries for our second design challenge and they are both soooo awesome - we had a hard time choosing the winner!!!

Here is Venus Fortuna's design layout entry:

Venus's entry called 'bubbly' is just that bubbly and bright and features her gorgeous son having a fun bath time!  The circle frame is a wonderful idea Venus; love it!! Love all the colours!

Here is Gale Ordono's design layout entry:

Gale's entry is super cute!  I love your flowers Gale and the techniques you used are really awesome! Your theme is fun and happy and who is that gorgeous young lady in your layout - so cute!

Sadly ladies we all cannot win but happily one of us can!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ladies I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful it is to scrap.  What is the number 1 rule of scrapbooking???  THERE ARE NO RULES!!!!  When you sit at your scrapping desk, have a favourite drink on hand, surrounded by awesome products, you create from within...the design just flows because it is you...not an imitation, just you.  So do it ladies; enter our challenges and showcase your creativity!!

It's Now Time For ...

Happy Tuesday morning, crafty peeps!!!

As promised, we are now announcing the details of our Second Design Challenge for Paper Lane, this time courtesy of our DT Janine - so, we would not want to keep the suspense any longer, so read through the mechanics and start creating that winning layout!!


Hey crafty ladies; hope you all are having a happy crafting time...

Below is a layout challenge sketch to use as a guideline.

Remember the above sketch is just a guideline.  Look at my layout and you will see how I arranged my photos differently to the sketch!  I also placed my title on top and not at the bottom as the sketch indicates.  It is all about imagination ladies so get those creative juices flowing and enter our challenge and stand a chance to win some awesome scrapbook goodies!

Atlantis 12x12 Layout

My layout depicts my daughters having fun with Lisa the dolphin at Atlantis. 

I chose a sheet of paper from the Tradewinds paper stack and glimmer misted a fish shape before I started decorating the page.  The left hand tear out holds sand, stones and shells with some clear stones all representatie of water. I thought it cute to glue a turtle amongst the stones.

So be creative and be imaginative!  I decided to add some non scrapbooking elements to my layout.  Because my layout is of a water theme I added sand, pebbles, shells, glass stones and a turtle!!  Remember with scrapbooking there is no right or wrong!

 

The rules are really simple:

1. Create a layout using the sketch as a guide - your layout must contain flowers, bling and some lace/ribbon/trim. 

2. Take a photo of your project, become a Paper Lane Like-r (if you still aren't yet!) , upload on your own Facebook and label it as "Paper Lane Design Challenge" and tag Paper Lane . Alternatively, you may also directly upload your work on Paper Lane's wall . For those without an active Facebook account, you may also email photo of your entries to dxbcrafters@gmail.com

3. The challenge will be open from today, 29th of May until Sunday ,10th of June and the winner will be announced on Tuesday, June 12th!!

4. The winner will take home this fabulous DCWV pad, containing 180 pages of awesome floral fun !!!

Congratulations to the Winner of Paper Lane's

Hello, everyone!


Paper Lane’s first challenge ended on 12 May 2012 and it’s time for the results! So here I am today to announce the winner and my Top Three!


Before that, however, I would like to thank personally all the crafty and brave ladies who took part in our first ever contest and shared their beautiful and sparkling cards with us!


And now, the winner is... :

Shayma Mohamed !!!

The card grabbed me straight away with its clean and elegant style. The colours are so soft and balanced and the butterflies are just the glittery accent that finishes the card oh so nicely. Well done, Shayma ! Enjoy your prize and share with us what you’ve created using it!


And here comes  my Top Three for this challenge:



1: The elegant sparkling card from Dolly Myra Zai Sham.

I absolutely loved how Dolly created the snowy effect on the horses feet with some white glitter powder. Great idea that looks so real. The pearlized Prima flowers also add a nice elegant touch.



2: The super cute mouse card from Swati Jain.

Swati used so many techniques here – a fun fold for the card base, heat embossing, some creative inking, Copic colouring and even a hand-made flower. Not to forget the perfectly glittery touch on the coloured flower. Really great job!


3: The bright and sparkly card from Tuba Anwar.

Beautiful strong colours and lots of glitter! Sweet!

Hello, everyone! Today I have something really exciting to share! Are you ready?

Paper Lane has decided to launch crafty competitions and let us (the Design Team members) challenge you! The challenges will be open to anyone who wishes to share their paper craft projects and win yummy prizes.

It’s really fun and easy and will work this way:

1. The Design Team will ask you to create a specific project (card, layout, altered art, etc.) and will share some inspirational projects to get you started.

2. You will have a week up to 10 days to create a new project (not posted on your blog or personal page before) and share it with us.

3. The Design Team will choose and announce the winner who will take home the prize.


Since it's my pleasure to announce the first challenge, I decided to choose something really easy and fun to start with, so I will ask you to:


Create a card that has sparkly or glittery elements.


The rules are really simple:

1. Create a card using anything sparkly that you like – glittery patterned paper, Stickles, Distress Stickles, Glimmer Mists, regular glitter, etc.

2. Take a photo of the card , become a Paper Lane Like-r (if you still aren't yet!) , upload on your own Facebook  and label it as "Paper Lane Design Challenge" and tag Paper Lane . Alternatively, you may also directly upload your work on Paper Lane's wall . For those without an active Facebook account, you may also email photo of your entries to dxbcrafters@gmail.com

3. The challenge will be open from today, 02nd of May to Saturday, 12th of May and the winner will be announced on Monday, 14th of May.

4. The winner will take home these fabulous goodies, including the newly arrived Studio Calico pad☺ :
