4th Day - Cake Decorating

Cake is often the dessert of choice for meals and special occasions. But will you like a cake without icing on it or any decoration?
Here at Sweet Lane we are introducing another program for kids to enjoy this summer vacation: Cake Decorating!
The Junior Campers stopped scrapping yesterday to do their cake decorating. They were very amazed when they saw that we have little aprons made especially for them. Just take a look at their beaming faces when we took a picture of them before starting the class.

Sweet Lane’s exceptional chef was their instructor for the day. Basic cake decorating techniques were taught to these attentive students. The chef showed them how to make a butter cream icing, they were also introduced to basic tips available for decorating, icing color mixing and had a hands-on on practice board. The highlight of the day was when Chef Noel gave each one of them 2 cupcakes to decorate... take a look at their masterpieces!

On the other hand, the little scrappers were enjoying their beadwork activity. They loved attaching these little beads to make necklaces and bracelets for themselves. They created their own design using different bead shapes and color combinations. We even had a fashion show for them to show off their colorful jewelry. Then they ate chocolate cake, fresh fruits and orange juice during their break. After which, they created their two-page layout using their best vacation pictures. The kids were good at scrapbooking now that they can finish their work faster than before. Here are some photos for you to see the campers in action:
